Untappd at Home

In light of recent closures and efforts to limit social gatherings, we have been working on ways to help both businesses and ensure communities can stay as safe as possible. Last week, we launched a searchable list of breweries, bars, taprooms, and restaurants with ways to support them. Tens of thousands of venues have been updated and we're actively working on ways to continue to provide support to those in need. Today, we're introducing a new global venue called "Untappd at Home" to connect our community of beer lovers together even if we can't be in the same physical location. To help support relief efforts and do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we encourage those that can to stay home. 

On the check-in screen, you'll find a new "Untappd at Home" location that aggregates everyone's check-ins from around the world when added. Check-in to that beer you just got delivered or picked up curbside, see what your global Untappd friends are having at home, and share that you're doing your part to prioritize safety.

You'll also find a list of Untappd-hosted events at this location like our weekly Virtual Happy Hour. We'll share the list of beers Greg and his guests will be sharing at each of these events. Subscribe to the location to get alerts when new events and beers get posted and before each event goes live on Facebook. Check-in with Untappd at Home and use the Events section in the check-in to share when you're hanging out with us!

As a part of the effort to stay home, we also encourage the use of our "Purchased Location" feature: Show your friends where you got it and where they too can help support local businesses or get a great deal at a local grocer or online retailer. It's a great way to tell others about places you love while still being safe and supporting social distancing efforts. Plus, adding Purchased Locations with Local Badges will count toward your progress on that venue's Local Badge.
