North Carolina Beer Month is officially here and it's time to celebrate! Boasting more than 260 breweries — from the mountains to the coast - the Tar Heel state is brewing up something for everyone. This year the folks at NC Beer Month have taken it up a notch, with several badges and four awesome beer getaway giveaways.

To get started, let's all raise a toast to North Carolina beer with our favorite brew from the state. Check-in to one (1) beer from an NC-based brewery listed below during the month of April and you'll unlock the "Welcome to NC Beer Month!" badge.

You can continue the fun by unlocking the "NC Beer Passport" badge. Check-in to a total of five (5) different qualifying NC Beer Month venues listed here during the month of April, and it's yours. Continue on to ten (10) and fifteen (15) total unique venues to unlock the 2nd and 3rd levels of this badge. You must add the qualifying location to your check-in for it to count toward your badge.

In case you needed more reason than just drinking excellent beer to unlock your "NC Beer Passport" badges, each level of the badge will earn you an entry to win one of four exclusive NC beer getaways to Asheville or Brevard in the mountains, Durham in the central region or the Outer Banks on the coast.
